See all that torn paper in the background?
That's what the broom's for.

Not only does this capture a tender moment, but it's also a great picture of Luke's beard success story.

Say It Loud

Porter was doing this for 5 minutes before I started recording him and most of the time he was yelling at the wind. You may need to adjust your volume to hear appropriate emphasis.

Porter: " NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! Car! Car! Car. Car."
Proceed to eat rocks.
Mama: "Yuck."
Porter: Conniving smile. Really taste rocks. Spit out while making eww face.
Repeat with tan bark mulch.

He does more than throw books. Most of the time he actually reads them.

My Town

Being that my maiden name is Wilson, is it possible that my family was one of the first
"whites to visit the Boise valley?" Hmm....I'm glad our vocabulary has diversified from that of 1931.

On our walk from story time to the playground we crossed over the very swollen Boise River.

Through Julia Davis Park.

Photo A Day - 22 & Walk In The Park

Albertson Park Pond

Went for a walk with Porter at Albertson Park today.
This is what we were greeted with. Hello spring!

He was very excited by the Nenes (nay-nay, goose in Hawaiian). Then we were charged by a mama goose (it's nesting season) and I had to get all mama bear on it. We managed to finish the walk in good spirits however.

Determined.

Post walk stretch. Porter walked for close to 45 minutes
and has never been happier to sit in his car seat.

Porter Walks For Human Rights

After story time at the Library! Porter likes to walk around. Today we walked to the nearby Human Rights Memorial. Porter was so inspired that he decided to really try his walking skills for the first time.

Drum roll please!

So, I said there wouldn't be any photos of Porter in this challenge, but I'm taking a day off from photography. In fact, Luke took this picture of Porter watching the snow this morning. The second picture was taken exactly a year ago, in Maui. Luke says, "Back when you had hair."

Book Toss

Being with my child everyday has allowed me to watched him develop and grow very intimately. He literally changes everyday, but my favorite part to see emerge is his personality. It's changed a lot in the last year, but just a month or so ago I noticed a major change which I can't quite identify. He went from being a baby to a toddler, mentally. There is something lost, which I'm quite sure will never be regained and that's a little sad to consider. Surly this won't be the last time I see him mature, but it's a little strange to actually witness a person change so dramatically before my very eyes. The nice part is seeing how he has grown into an outgoing, inquisitive and very friendly person. The one thing I know for sure is that I love him more all the time.

Porter is very mobile now, able to take a couple steps at a time unassisted, and an advanced crawler. I'd bet on him in a baby crawling race any day. I give him a lot of freedom to roam around the living room, hallway and his bedroom. If I'm not in the same room I check on him every couple minutes. While he was in his bedroom I was doing something in another room when I heard giggles and thumps, which of course begged of my attention. I went to see what was up and this is what I found:
